It has often been said that someone has made their peace with God, as if the Lord needed some kind of assurance from us. The truth is, God has made peace with us through the cross of Jesus Christ. As we recognize that our justification has been established through faith apart from works, we begin to experience this peace. While Jesus did not come to bring peace to the world, He did bring it to us who are in Him. Though we're currently living in a fallen world where tribulation and suffering occurs, in the midst of it Jesus Himself is our peace.
"God is good!" A phrase that gets thrown around a lot in Christian religious circles. Yet it shouldn't become just a catch-phrase for us. As we grow in grace and our understanding of the good news it becomes more of a reality that we can't be swayed from. Although we may not always understand why things happen the way they do, coming to the realization of the truth that God really is good (all the time) is a key component in regards to our attitude under grace.
As a follow-up to our previous program entitled Jesus the Healer, this week we talk about how it's important for us in Christ to understand that the Lord is not the cause of pain and suffering that you may have experienced. There are things in this world that will come against you, yet through it all God is with you and He is for you. God does not abuse or torment His children but rather His goodness and perfect love removes fear and brings comfort and assurance.
In case you missed it, we recently posted three bonus podcasts featuring highly encouraging highlights from our past 100 Growing in Grace episodes! Here's the third bonus podcast, GIGBite Bonus Podcast 3, which also includes links to the first two.
The life and ministry of Jesus while He was on the earth describes many miracles that included a demonstration God's healing power. We begin to see the immeasurable love God had for people through these works being done through His Son. It was a reflection of His desire and His will when it came to physical needs. The subject of healing has caused confusion and wonder among some. Regardless of your experiences or circumstances, our purpose with this program is to try to bring some reassurance and hope as we look at the goodness of God and physical healing through the eyes of grace.
