438. A Gospel of Change or EXchange?

The great exchange. It may be a phrase you've heard in Christian circles. But it's astonishing to find out how little is known about the exchanged life even by believers in Christ. Religion will gradually attempt to get the focus of the Christian life on you and your efforts for God. But we are reminded throughout scripture that your old life and sinful nature was replaced (exchanged) with His life and a nature of divine righteousness. Often change can be good, but the focus of the gospel for us should not be about our changed behavior, but the reconciliation that came as a gift.

437. Crossing the (220) Line: Connecting to His Life in You

Electricians install 220 lines to connect to the source of power. As believers we have a 220 line that summarizes the Christian life for us in just a few words. Galatians 2:20: "It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." Paul also stated in verses 19 and 21 that we died to the law that we might live to God... And if right-standing with God comes through the works of the law then Christ died for nothing. Enjoying the benefits of this new life means not only knowing what you've been delivered from but what you were delivered into.

436. Paul: From Law Man to Freedom Fighter

Looking at the first couple chapters in Galatians, the apostle Paul begins to address how he came to learn the gospel by revelation from the Lord. He confronts those who would contradict this gospel by having people believe the law of Moses was still needed in addition to belief in Jesus Christ. The Jews had now been freed from the law. The Gentiles had never been under it. Paul begins to show why he had to die to the very thing he once believed in the most.

435. Avoiding Religious Regulations

This week we find ourselves jumping into a spontaneous discussion about some religious mindsets people have and the things they feel the need to do. Often it's human-based traditions that are the foundation that leads people into this bondage. Where do many of them come from? Usually it's a variation of the Old Covenant that the Jewish people were under. An obsolete covenant that has been replaced with a brand new one that brings freedom to Jews and Gentiles alike.

434. Caught in the Act: Mercy Vs. Law

We take a closer look into the story of the woman caught in the act of adultery. When the accusers pointed to the Mosaic law to demand justice, Jesus showed them that the law with which they tried to condemn her also did the same to them. The law had brought condemnation and death to the Jewish people for centuries. Yet with no attempt on her part, this woman was able to experience a taste of mercy from her Creator that would soon be the norm as the New Covenant was established.
