Do you think it's the Christian's job to try to be more like Jesus? Should that be our goal? Well, this may be a different perspective than you've previously heard, but we're here to say that we gave up trying to be like Jesus! Why? It has to do with the difference between self-effort/performance-based Christianity and resting in Christ/living out of who He has already made us to be. 1. I’d rather rip statements than try to think of my own. That way I can save my brain power for something else.

These two sentences are from a Nov 22 e-update article (CWR) by James A. Fowler focusing in part on evolution. “Rather than an ape taking on the form of a man [re evolution], they [legalistic IC’s] advocate a man performing the antics of an ape, attempting to imitate, mimic, or ape the activities of Jesus [i.e. WWJD approach]. We are genuine and authentic Christian human beings only when we derive spiritual character from the indwelling presence of the Spirit of God in Christ.” - Parenthesis mine.

Now who is the real monkey?
